Every third Monday of the month, sisters Cynthia and Rachel open the doors to their salon ‘Racine’ in Islip, Long Island. Determined to make the day’s customers feel beautiful, they know today’s challenge goes beyond painted toes or the right haircut. The brassy duo – dubbed “Chocolate and Cherry Ice” by admiring males in town – have dedicated third Mondays to women undergoing chemotherapy – women like Cambria and Linda, two unlikely friends who meet at Racine.
